just seems like a few bug fixes, but it hasn't killed my macbook so far, so worth the 40mb download methinks.

Yeah I noticed that update (40Mb) too, but I was on the Apple Website and saw this Mac OS X 10.5.1 Update that is 110Mb!, I'm not sure what the difference is in the two but I downloaded both anyways.

Here's the 110Mb Update on Apple

afaik the 110mb is for PPC macs, the 40 is for the intels.

    Other way around, surely?

Anyway, both updates done here (ibook G4), no problems -- except Webkit 3.0 is installed by default now, so Adium is acting screwy.

I think the size of your download depends on what hardware you're using.

40 for me on a macbook.

Ok then can someone explain how the 100MB file updates both the PPC (PowerMac Dual G5 2GHz) and Intel (MacBook Pro CD 1.83GHz) ?

I downloaded the only file available from Apples support site and used it on both these machines without problem. Maybe it's an ambidextrous version ???!!:)

i downloaded the update using software update and found i had a lot of errors in file permissions. Searching around the apple support forums the consensus seems to be to download the 110mb "combo" update from apples website and install over the first update if you have to.This worked for me also and got rid of all the suid warnings except the ard one which will be sorted in a future update i expect. my computer is very responsive also now.
