Hey, so I was tired off WMP, so based on advice here i went and downloaded the newest version of Winamp, and i like it so far... I do have a couple of small problems that i can't get to work, so i thought i'd ask here, see if ye can help...

    3 problems:

    1. How do i switch winamp to be the default player of music? I have associated it with all music file types, but if i double click on a song it opens wmp anyway... I've tried going through the set default programs thing in windows, but my only options for default media player are: iTunes, Quicktime, real player, windows media centre and windows media player... (i'm using vista ultimate btw)

    2. I'm using a Dell vostro laptop with media hot keys at front to control volume, play/pause, fast forward, rewind & stop. The play/pause etc. keys don't work at all, and the volume doesn't work if i'm in full screen, any reason why?

    3. This is probably a longshot, but is there a thing (like WMP or iTunes) where when you minimise winamp it goes into the taskbar across bottom of screen?

    In relation to 1,

Right click on the mp3 file and click open with and select Winamp from the program list and always use this program.

With Vista, if you run Winamp as Admin and then reset the file associations you should do the trick as well

    Sorry.. just couldn't resist :)
I suppose i better be helpful this time..

Could controlling from the system tray be of any help? linky

And as for the buttons try this. There is a dll on the page you have to download and place in your winamp plugins directory. My vostro throws up an error in winamp but the buttons work none the less.
