Will I Lose All My Data On My Hardrive By Getting A New PSU??

    Recently damaged my current PSU (Power Supply Unit) with a power surge, Ive been told i need a new PSU, Will i lose all the data i have stored on my computer? or will it effect it at all???

    ^^ this is assuming that the power surge hasn't damaged any other components, of course. That said my own power supply got fried a few weeks ago (fan died, now it smells like fire) and I replaced it with a new one (a new PSU not a new fan!) and everything's been fine since.

    PSU replacement shouldnt affect your hard drive. Although the fact that your asking the question indicates that you should probably look into backing up your data!

    if everything goes according to plan & everything i have on my hard-drive remains safe, after i get it repaired..i will be investing in an external harddrive..lesson has been learned

    Already have one..beleive it or not, I got it free when i bought the computer..never used it at all...god am I regretting that now!!
