Help needed choosing a 24" LCD

Ok I need some advice on choosing a good 24" LCD.

What is the current best LCD panel I should be looking for (i.e. TN.. etc)

I don't need a load of ports, just VGA and DVI (also HDCP compliant) so can someone recommend me a good monitor where I won't have to pay for all these needless features (I won't be hooking up any consoles to it)

I've heard good things about Samsungs (Dell is still too expensive for me and i've heard there new range is actually worse) anyone have experience with Samsung panels?

erm... thanks for the advice, but anything more than an 8ms response time i'll be avoiding. 16ms seems very slow.

i linked the the round up of 24" lcds back abit just search 24".

Dell and Benq make the best all over lcds.also think samsung have a new contender.

if i were you i would go for Dell 2470HC my personnal fav.

also i would not reccomend a Tn film panal as they give sharp veiwing angels and dont give very sharp colours compared to the dell and benq panal's (cant remmber there name.)

BenQ are more favoured in photography circles aren't they? I think they have excellent colour reproduction in general.

I would go for a samsung or a viewsonic, from personal experience.

I was playing crysis at 50fps pretty smooth on a 30" native res on mine. Whatever you get I dont think you could go wrong with a dell, as there the nicest monitors out there besides the samsungs(glossy black ones)
