The underline icon? Or go to format-font and use it from there

o rite i found it, but when i make my preferences and click ok nothing happens, i just want a line to go right acroass the page, not to underline the words, but to break the page,
    thanks

to put one right across the page type
or similar, usually it converts it into a page wide solid line

or uses borders and shading to insert a line below a section of text, in fact I think thats what happens when it converts
to a solid line. It is making it a border line

From my experience its ______ not
that converts it to a page break... I love the feature, makes the CV look a lot neater and easier to read.

BTW OP, Spell Check the f**k out of your CV.

    type this across your page

Hold the shift key. And the key directly to the right of the 0 (zero) key. Make sure it is heavilly spell checked, and check it for gramar too !

or just draw a line..... view - toolbars - drawing should open the drawing toolbar if its not already open. Select the line tool and draw!!

if you want to add the line across the page, press enter once or twice at the end of your text, go to the line with the text on it, and press the borders and shading box (assuming you're using MS Word), select bottom border...see attached pic.

    hope this helps
