    Hi Folks,

Tinking of buyin an M4- model still undecided. Possibly CASv. Can anyone tell me please, perhaps even Shiva or the lads from AE, wat is the difference between the M4's they both stock.

Other than the obvious price difference and manufactur dboys/TM...

Will I notice a significant difference if I buy one over the other??

Anyone bought one from either supplier??

    Cheers...

Essentially it comes down to how they're made.
I'm not going to start slating Dboys, but Tokyo Marui are the largest airsoft manufacturer in the world and have precision manufacturing techniques in place, throughout the entire manufacturing process. You will find that the fit and finish of all components are perfect and there are not rattles or wobbling throughout the gun. The internals of a Marui AEG will also last you much much longer, there is no confirmed source on this, but Maruis are gererally accepted as the most reliable airsoft guns available.

Although the Dboys M4 may not be as perfectly made, it is almost half the price, so it comes down to what you want for your money.

There are also things to consider like genuine firearms insignia, weight, balance and metal parts, all of which you get for your extra money.

What airsofteire said, except when you take into account batteries and chargers for the Tm guns they are a lot more then just twice the price.

Very true, but if you were to buy the battery and charger you get with a DBoys, they'd probably cost you a tenner. Exceptionally poor batterys, so much so that Shiva doesn't even accept returns on them, and i don't blame him.

I don't really think the poor performance of the batterys is always down to quality issues, more to do with improper charging and discharging causing the battery life to diminish quickly. Without proper treatment top line batterys will die or fail just as quickly.

And I'm not surprised Shiza does not accept returns on Batterys, most products involving batteries refuse to cover them under warrenty outside of a short timespan. There are too many variables outside of the sellers control to garruntie to lifespan of them.

There is no answer to that question. They cater for different markets, do so very well, and make no bones about it.

I have a DBoys m4 CASV. Haven't been skirmishing with it yet. So far I haven't had any major issues. It fires very consistent groupings. I have had a good few misfeeds but I think thats down to the hi-cap mag and not the m4 itself. The paint tends to come off easily but that can easily be fixed. This seems to be a common problem with clones. Also the PEQ battery box wrecks my head! I can't seem to fit a battery in the handguard so it might be worth looking at one of the other DBoys m4s. A stick battery may fit inside but I haven't tried it yet so I can't really comment on that.

heard an intresting quote bout this not so long ago,
if your just a shortterm player the dboys is perfect (dont burn me ) if you just plan to skirmish every now and again ,the dboys can take a good bit of punishment for an inferior constructed aeg,now if its for the long term and you want to upgrade new internals and so on the TM/CA is the one to go for,
the best bit of advice you get on here is try before you buy,get out to HRTA and ask us all questions asnd most of us are happy to let ppl hold and try our equipment out, before you make a decision

Absolutely, like I said i'm not picking on the Dboys, just pointing out the differences.

If anything, the Dboys are better value for what you get. But if you want quality and reliability, you pay that bit extra; just like everything in life.

    What rathole?
A legitimate question was asked and legitimate answers were given.
    Am I missing something?

    hi,

thanks for the opinions....thanks steve much appreciated.

Still undecided tho...Looking at pics and reviews the PEQ box doesnt actually have a laser, its just some sot of batt holder...

Rathole? Im lost on that too...

rathole = highends vs clones .
as for the peq box legality issuse with lasers, most of the peq boxes are only there to hold batteries

I knew what they were inferring, i just didn't see any arguing like suggested.
Anyways, good luck with the decision making process CTU.

you're right that it's just a battery box but it's quite bulky which is what annoys me.
