Seems the EU isnt as happy as the rest of us with how regulators and industry seems so cosy together...

Hopefully this shakes up comreg and gives us a decent regulator with proper powers and teeth...

    Its long overdue....

They did it with roaming charges so hopefully they can make a difference here too

Saw the commisioner on Channel 4 last night, she looks and sounds like she means buisness.

Lets hope, of course when Comreg is contacted they'll report all is fine and well in Ireland

Why the hell can't they have the same type of power as OFCOM does in the UK?
Atleast it doesn't act like a kitten when dealing with ISP's and telecoms

Funny you should say that, Jon Snow introduced the piece with a comment to the effect that the relationship between OFCOM and the providers was seen as 'too cosy'.

We always have the problem of scale though, when the commissioners talk about these problems they're usually talking about Germany, Britain, Spain, etc. They tend to forget litte old Ireland with the most useless regulators in the EU.

We are top in the world for Line Rental, Top of the complete bottom of Europe in BB and Top in Europe ( albeit thankfully ahead of Zimbabwe ) in the uselessness and in the mendacity of our so called regulators thereof .
