Proxy Chaining

I'm looking to chain two proxies together (running Privoxy to block internet rubbish and also running behind a college proxy). The network preference pane will only let me enter the one proxy, anyone know if there's any way to enter two via a terminal command or anything?

I cannot think of a mechanism where you could explicitly chain a group of proxy servers without access to the configuration of said proxy servers.

However, in your case that is OK as you do have access to the configuration of at least one of the proxy servers; the first one.

http://www.privoxy.org/user-manual/config.html#FORWARDING should give you a solution to your question.

Thanks for this, I should probably have posted that I figured it out in the end. It actually wasn't particularly hard (it involved adding one line to a text file). The reason I wanted to know if there was a way to do it via OS X's own configuration was so I could easily switch between home (where I only use Privoxy) and college (where I have to chain Provoxy and the college proxy). In the end I just used Automator to edit the text file via the Finder's context menu when necessary.

    Thanks anyway!
