Im heading stateside tomorrow and have been asked to pick up a DS Lite? Is there just a DS Lite on the market or a DS and DS Lite?

If I brought one back from the states, would I encounter any problems with games? charging?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

DS lite is just a more recent version. Its a bit lighter in weight
US games work in european version and vice versa. the DS lite can also play ld DS and gameboy advance and gameboy games
You will prob get a us recharger so you will have to buy a UK one here to recharge it or get a converter.
DS lite isnt that expensive here so i doubt youd save that much and with the recharger issue you might be better buying it here.

thanks for the info ... been looking at the black friday deals, $150 including a game. with the ex rate, seems cheaper.

A general DS sticky with this kind of information would be a good idea actually.

Think dealextreme have a usb charger for both DS phat and lite. Maybe an easier option

    WTF?

€150 in Smyths vs. $129 in the states! A saving of about €60. Take away about a fiver for a mains charger, or less for a USB one, from Dealextreme and you're still paying more than a 50% premium to buy here.

My advice is to buy 2. You'll probably encounter at least one more person who needs one for a christmas present and will name their next born after you for saving their christmas budget. Or, at worst, you can sell it for at least what it cost you. I'll take one off you in fact!
