There are still models available with two mags, just to clarify for anyone thinking of getting one.

Ive two now, a m1911 and a hi capa government, they are very good, lovely build quality in all metal and are meant to last a long time from reviews of the older hi capas.

The WE 1911 Tactical's are a great looking piece aswell. I hope Shiva gets some in.

Yeah I was considering getting one of those instead, but now I've the 1911 I know id have regretted it.

The clean lines and smaller sights are great, overall the thing is very classy and doesnt feel dated at all, I think the rail on the tactical and the modern touches would take too much away.

Edit: I got a govt. model hi capa to suit my modern 1911 needs(wants).

Lemme see. It has a congenital problem with the slide not locking back on empty, this is due to poor quality metal on the slide release. There is the dodgy gas valve (hence the infamous cloud of death.) There is the 'When do I stop' filling problem.
All of these things are fixable or avoidable with care, but they don't speak to good build quality. There is more to quality than weight, but at the price, these foibles are livable.

For the price I'm very happy with the quality, and the slide lock thing is an occasional problem, and after the very simple fix never happens again.

That said, I only got mine recently and as such am very enthusiastic about it!:D

Never got the cloud of death, is that a cool down issue or just related to the valve?

I'm happy with the quality too, but it's not in the same league as the TM. At half the price, I'm not surprised.
Never got the cloud of death, thats a cool down issue right?
Sort of. A spot of silicone on the valve at the top of the mag before firing does wonders. Also a squirt in the nozzle at the bottom before filling does wonders. I know that most gas include silicone.
    These need more.

Do the standard WE 1911 Government Issue single stack 15rnds mags fit that? Just seems that the end plate of the mag is thicker in the picture

Thats just stuck on afaik, hi capas have different plastic sh1te stuck on for different models, I presume that the 1911s are compatible as it just makes sence they would be, no reason to be different in real steel or in airsoft.

Frame is Identical bar the little touches in pictures so Id say its a safe bet, without doing any actual research!:D

i just bought this as a impuls buy kinda is it compatable with the viper left handed holster? is it recomendable as a first timer gbb pistol?

the viper leftie holster is pretty tight fitting and holds very nicely so should be fine with an M1911., i have one myself.,

    Oh theres plenty of us(leftys)

I@ve got a WE1911 with the same slide isuue, not locking back on a empty slide, is it just a case of a rub of a file in the groove of the slide release catch?

hey guys just have a we 1911 tactical ordered. Thinking of changing the grips though as i don't like the look of them. Anyone know where i can get compatible wooden style grips at a reasonable price?
    Something like these maybe:

try ebAY all real steel grips fit onto the 1911 series. I've a set of genuine pachyma grips on the way and a mate already has a set of RS grips on his.

I've a WE 1911 bought from eirsoft.ie its not my favourite looking
pistol but I got to say its the most reliable.

The two mags that came with it fill flawlessly and without any leaks,
    fillage issues or noice,

It fires crisply, the trigger is sensitive, and every time I get a full
mag fired with one fill of gas.

The slide locks back when mag is empty all of the time.

Yea so is mine, it's very reliable but i have to keep it very well maintained, thank god i've never had the slide trouble with it. It looks plain enough but it feels good in the hand and it's got a great action while firing. Wei get a lot of bad press but i think their newer editions are a better build quaility in fairness.

i got the tactical edition now and only got one mag with it, i'm scouring the place for a spare any ideas?

I have a We 1911 that I blue the slide off, 1 mag is no good, but the other is fine, if it fits you can have it Horse84. (will have to look for it)
And before you all ask,(HINT) dont use propane in em, the slide went about 8ft,(shattered the metal at the front of the GBB and the hole thing just went) gave a great kick though :D and was left with half a pistol in my hand.

Ill stick to my AEG's, as I break them alot anyway ;)

mine did the same on green gas. Front retainer clip piece for the spring just shattered and flew off into the distance on a 1911 tactical.

(and green gas is pretty much identical to propane from what I read, just with added silicon oil, and without the tag odour of industrial propane, adn reading my can of asg green gas, it contains c4h10 (butane iirc) and c3h8, propane)

It doenst seem like the part is readily available either, although its easy enough to fit (I stripped a freind's spare to see).

Anyone any ideas where you can get we parts?

Sorry TMG, no idea:( I've always wanted one of these but could never justify buying it after getting my Hi-Capa, which has always preformed flawlessy, bar a small gas leak in the mag.

    what bits do you need?

    thanks for the link!

I'm looking for the retainer piece that slots over and then twists down on the front of the barrel which has a small piece that protrudes downward, and holds the spring assembly in place. I've seen it referred to as the front plate in places, but I cant seem to find a WE one anywhere

When mine broke I searched, and searched..........and searched.......

    and searched some more!

But, I couldnt find a replacement part, at least not a WE replacement part. I wonder do any of the other 1911 manufacturers supply such a part? I'd imagine they'd be pretty standard size, or if not perhaps a little modifying, sure 'twould be better than nothing! :pac:

I may have it, i think its the one bit that dident break?? will have a dig in the shed tomorrow.
It was the WE 1911 standard, weather that will fit the Gov in not sure?
will ad a pic when I find it, just to be sure its the bit ya want?

There is even an extra mag (For Horse84) if ya want it, you have first dibs on that?
And would have been great on you tube, as it spun me out :O

WE 1911s are a copy of the TM 1911s so maybe ya should search 4 dem?
