Do a search. There was a long debate about this very recently so it should be handy to find. In a nutshell, 360 has tonnes more games available at the minute. PS3 has more potential and it has an inbuilt Bluray player which is cheapest and probably best Bluray player on market right now. Anyway, use search function to find out more

What has shops selling PS3's or Xboxs got to do with putting up a sticky on a top of "Which one to buy"???? You do know what he meant by that statement? It would have meant that your question would have potentially been answered without you having to search or post a separate thread.

HT2007, this isn't a shop, AnCapaillMor doesn't gain anything if you buy either console :)
It might seem a bit harsh, but understand that we see threads like this *constantly* on the various game boards, so we've all answered those threads several times over now. Check them out, a few of the threads are a bit long but should give you some info.

IMHO: Get both. If you can only afford one right now, I recommend you get an Xbox 360, and make sure you get Mass Effect next week :)

Well bit the bullet & asked a friend for a lend of his PS3 60GB ... Heavy yoke indeed!!

Very impressed by COD4 MW ... But Xtravision's collection of rentals are very poor, at this moment in time! And it'll be new or secondhand games being bought than rented!

Now gota ask around see if someone else had a 360 :D:D:D But dont like the controls & may well end out getting a PS3! Maybe for xmas or in the new year sales.:)

Cheers for all ur info lads n ladies;)

If I had to do without one of the 3 consoles, it would definitely be the PS3.
The 360 gets a hell of a lot more use than the Wii, so I'd have to say 360 (same as the last gazillion times I've posted in a thread like this)

So you prefer the PS3's controller to the 360's? Any particular reason?

Malformed hands is the only reason I can think of. The PS3 controller like all the PS controllers is an abomination. The 360 joypad is perfect other than a dodgy d-pad (which is no where near as bad as the PS contoller d-pad).

none of them are "the best" as such - the xbox and the ps3 are both going to have advantages. People will always tell you that whatever one they have is the best. Really though, both are owned by huge corporations which need there consoles to do well - if one falls behind the other for a while it is likely to catch up as more money will be pumped into it.

The PS3 (or PS2) has a better controller in my opinion, marginally.

Much better d-pad (I don't know how you can say the 360 one is better, it's completely unusable and seems to have just been added as a nod to tradition rather than actually being there to be used) and much much better and more comfortable pressure sensitive face buttons are what do it, in addition to better L1 and R1 buttons than those bumpers that you have to contort your fingers to hit.

The 360 has better analogue sticks and triggers (again living up to its built-for-fps reputation) but for most game types I much prefer the PS3 pad, as it's sticks are acceptable and most PS3 games use the excellent L1 and R1 buttons instead of the awful triggers which are relegated to minor functions.

And having played Folklore, Loco Roco and Ratchet & Clank I do think the motion sensing adds to the controller, when used properly. It's a pity it so rarely is.

if you want the best system right now with the most best games then go for the 360 (if you don't mind it bursting into flames every so often :D).

if you have a HDTV and want to make the most out of it (it really does want you to buy those blu-ray movies so you can show it off properly!) and can live with a smaller selection of good games now and have the patience to wait a little while for lots excellent games to come more and would prefer a much better long term investment then get the PS3. you'll have it long after you'll have sent back your 3rd or 4th 360 for repair and got fed up and just left it in the box it came back in propping open a door somewhere because you're afraid of it dying again. :p

The 360 has the field pwned in terms of games.

But it's held together by sticky tape and prit stick.

This should be quoted after every thread of this nature!
If you can afford it, then the only question is in what order.

I'm sure there are many folks loyally entrenched in either MS or Sony's camp and could easily afford the "enemies" machine at expense of not buying a few "filler" games - But won't purely out of brand loyalty and marketing.

Lets face it, for either console you're looking upwards of €450. That's a fair chunk of change and a major purchase. But if you've paid that money for it your going to want to play games on it and how many people have paid €60 for games that are either an impulse buy or played for a minimum of time and then forgotten?(How else would transformers still be in the charts otherwise?) while there are A+ titles available fo the other machine you don't have, and you won't play as it's the enemies system.

By simply only buying A+ titles or those that you really want, how many people could save the price of another console? I did.

Now if I could only find somewhere that has a bloody Wii in stock.
