Would anyone know the dates for the first midterm break for the school year 08/09. (October/November) I am trying to book a trip away for a large group & dont want to get the dates wrong.

    Thanks

Looking at the calendar I would expect it to be Friday 24th October, 2008 to Monday November 3rd, 2008.

Always more expensive travelling in mid-term - go the week after or before and you'll get much better value.

Thanks for that, I was hoping it was that week as the dates for the trip are the Hallowe'en weekend (including the thursday). I just needed to check before I confirmed in case Thursday was a school day.

am I correct in saying it hasn't been officially published yet, we got the 2004-2008 dates, and nothing more since. Though Spurious would be best advisor on this and its always the bank holiday/holy souls week!

Yes, they are probably scuttling about union and Department-wise as we speak - they do it 5 years at a time.
Perhaps no-one in civil servant land has noticed it needs to be re-done. I'll see what I can find out at work.
