GPA and Donal Og.

In the context of GAA activities being sustained by the high level of engagement of volunteers at all levels across the country, Donal Og Cussack's response was "If thy are prepared to walk away because of a potential GPA strike, what does that say about their commitment in the first place".
This from a guy who is belligerently preparing to walk away from the honour of representing these very same volunteers. But then I suppose it is the role of a Chairman to articulate the values and mores of his "organisation". (But then again, I wonder how many of his "members" would express themselves in such a manner - certainly none the inter-county players I have encountered over 50 years involvement).

In fairness to Donal Óg he does a lot of work in his own club, training kids etc. And I think he's right in that most volunteers 99.9% would not stop doing GAA work because of the strike. He could have put it better no doubt but he was probably asked a stupid question by some journo like "What effect will this have on all the volunteers who put in hours of work, won't it encourage them to walk away"
