    Hi All,

    even though im new here, i felt its no harm to maybe bring this topic to a thread of its own, rather that getting caught up in the emillos one.

    If you want to have work done on your classic then the best way is to bring the car to the shop who you want to do it, at the same time, if you classic is not running they may be prepared to come to you.

    Be clear on what you want to achieve, is it just a cosmetic job, that will not last until the rust starts to bubble again!
    or do you want the car, stripped back to bare metal, rust removed, welding done, new parts frabricated, parts sourced from god know where, return wrong parts, find the new ones, (I said its a "63 not a "64!) another trip to the bank to get the loan extended, and on and on and on.

    As i learned the hard way, its much better to pay extra for a good condition classic rather than buy a poor one and try to fix it up.

    Just my twopennce worth!!
