Semi auto on JG Aug

Well iv had this problem for a long long time now with my Aug. basically pulling the trigger back to the semi auto position sometimes will fire a single shot while some times it wont and ill have to pull the trigger back fully for a burst instead. follow up shots in semi absolutely never work[ive a 9.6 volt in their aswell] and it sounds like the gears half turn, again engaging it in full auto is the only way to get it to fire again. Its really starting to annoy me alot more these days as i wanna just use it in semi and i only use lowcaps and firing in burst's is much louder then the tiny thump of a semi shot on my gun.
Looking at the trigger contacts they are clearly charred and im not sure how far forward their supposed to be but i have fiddled with them a bit to no avail.
So just wondering would this most likely be the problem or would it likely be the stock motor im using [heard of 1 case of someones Jg aug motor being pretty crap] or perhaps the problem is internal like not enough grease used?
Im in no rush to re-open the gearbox after last times un-pleasantness but will if i need to.
I have access to a soldering iron but im unsure how much of a risk their would be in re soldering those contacts. From what iv read copper should be used for such purposes, can anyone give me some advise about re-soldering these parts? like would i solder the copper strips over the current metal contacts or somehow create all knew copper ones? the auld fella has a lot of experience in soldering T.V's etc so he'd be ok for doing it.

Hope some of this makes sense.
