    I can't open the second link, just as long as your RAM is DDR2 you should be ok. Have you checked to make sure your RAM is correctly fitted (pushed in until it clicks) and also, check in case you moved or disconnected any cables.

    Remove the original stick of ram from the laptop (ie. the one that was in it from day 1) and just have the new stick of ram in the laptop. If it works then we have eliminated the new stick of ram as the fault, if it doesn't work and continues beeping well the new stick maybe faulty, or may not be compatible with the original stick of ram that was in the laptop.
