Vostro 1500 Display problems?

    Hi, i want to buy a Vostro 1500 with a 8600M GT gfx card but have read on several forums that there is an issue with the display getting corrupted because of drivers for the gfx card that don't work correctly (on Vista Ultimate 32 bit).
    It has been suggested that there is a problem with the bios, need to upgrade to bios A01 or something, i don't really understand it.

    I'm just wondering if any of ye have had any display problems with your Vostro 1500 and what ye did to fix it?
    (Apparently this problem only affects the 1500 and not the other models)
    Is this a Vista only problem or does it happen with XP too?

    One of the poster here has a vostro 1500 with an 8600gt and as far as I know it's still going fine. I don't think he has vista ultimate though, I think he's only got vista business. I don't see how that would affect the bios though.

    ya i haven't found any topic on this forum complainin about it, found a few other forums though, i just wanted to check. maybe they were just hardware problems that some just attributed to a bios conflict.
    Hopefully there are no problems as i'm puttin in the order tomorrow :o

    I got a vostro 1500 with a 8600 graphics card almost 3 days ago now
    I couldnt be happier with it...no problems whatsoever with the display

    I have a Vostro 1500, with that GFX card and with Vista Ultimate, I've had it a few months now, never once had any problem with drivers or anything like that for the graphics card at all...

    I have a 1500 w/8600GT, if its not playing games, its hooked up to a projector for movies daily, never had any problems with it whatsoever.
