In rush hour traffic everyday for work, is it bad? How long would it take roughly? Just want to see if I'll go for an interview there or if it's worth it. New to the area. Thanks for any info.

Jamestown Business Park to be specific. Thanks.

Not too sure but I'd say even just getting on to the M50 alone would be a nightmare at that time....unless there's another way? I'm not sure where Jameson Road is though sorry.

Maybe this isn't the best week to mention public transport ;) but you could get the 129 from Baldoyle to the Tonlagee / Malahide road and change there onto a 17A to Finglas? The 129 is reasonably reliable but don't run very often though.

best bet is probably kilbarrack road, tonlegee road, oscar traynor road, santry avenue, balbutcher lane, jamestown road..

Avoid Oscar Traynor and Coolock Lane if you can help it, the road works there are crucifying the traffic and won't be finished for a while yet. Perhaps you could go further down to Collins Avenue and across that way?

It should be no bother...the M50 mostly only gets bad at Finglas, and you can get off there or ballymun. Of course, getting on to the M50 can be a problem, but there are probably a few other routes that ain't too bad. (Swords, and then St. Margaret's Rd or back of airport perhaps).

Of course, you don't say what your mode of transport is, or what time you are going at. If it's shift work, it could be about a 20-minute drive only.

Nearly always worth going for an interview, mind - you don't have to take the job afterwards

I travel from Portmarnock to Citywest every day. Most days the M50 from the M1 roundabout to Finglas is usually ok (although of late it has been slightly heavier than usual, perhaps this is only seasonal). From the Malahide Road at the Hilton Hotel to Finglas can often be done in 30 minutes or thereabouts.

    Good luck with the interview

How about cycling? It's not that far.

If you come down across by north side shopping center into santry, then take the ballynum road, at the junction at the "days inn hotel" go straight, if you follow this road it will bring you into the charlestown area of finglas, james town industrial estate is just there...

Its not a bad commute as your basically going radially around Dublin, most of the traffic is going into the city... can't be more than 30mins or so..

Try avoid collins Ave as its' usually quite bad as its close to the city... the ballymun road is much better...

Thanks a million for your help everyone. Have just moved here so don't know the area at all....thanks for your help Dilbert but I really don't know those roads at all unfortunately....when I come off the M50 after taking the Finglas turn off and go left for Finglas village where do I go then? Have tried googling it etc but no luck and I can usually understand directions better if they're written down for me so to speak...any help again would be appreciated, thanks.

I think this is the route that Spockety suggested and this is the route that DublinDilbert suggested. I can't remember exactly where that business park is but the map should get you close enough.

    Great, thanks Mark!

Don't take a left onto the Ballymun road after Santry Avenue.. it can be crap in the mornings as there seems to be always road works on funneling everyone into one lane. There is no need anyway, just go straight through onto balbutcher lane which sweeps all the way around to a roundabout on Jamestown Road.. then left, and Jamestown Business Park is on the right a few hundred yards down.

If you come off the M50 at Finglas, go on the N2 toward the city. Turn off almost immediately, (left) for the Charlestown SC. Keep going straight through a number of lights, across St. Margaret's Rd., and then to a roundabout,

Turn Right at the round-about. This is Jamestown Rd. There are a number of industrial parks, on the right...I assume this is where you want to go.

These roads are very new, so I doubt they are on any map! But they are there.

The other routes suggested, via Northside SC and Ballymun are probably good but this is the simplest and you stay on the M50 for quite a bit.
