The only way to do it is to buy from a reputable website. uggstop.au is apparently good re delivery time and costs, etc. AFAIK you can order directly from the UGG website as well. There are also some UK sites- ugsandkisses.co.uk is apparently another winner. Make sure you order in plently of time )this week is possible) to avoid your daughter's disappointment on Christmas day.

    :)

Hartings.co.nz is one of the best websites...they're not fake and are much cheaper than most websites. I didn't have to pay customs on mine as they marked them as a gift.

Don't get them on ebay as even though they might look real (and seem the right price), they can be fakes.
This happened to me, and it was only when I compared them to a real pair that I worked it out.

Office, Fitzpatricks and Schuh all do them, but expect to pay €230 for them. They do last forever though and are super comfy, so I think they're worth it.

Have also heard good things about Hartings.

I have been trying to order from http://www.hartings.co.nz/UGG_classic_short_chestnut.htm
but the wizard to click on 'how many' doesn't appear to be working, anyone used this site this week and managed to order a pair.

    thanks

Its because they've none in stock....

Buy online from www.neimanmarcus.com I've ordered from them loads. Shipping is about $25, the boots cost $125 and customs is usually around €40 so it still works out cheaper than buying them in Dublin.

Oh and they are the real ones as well because the store is a Brown Thomas type store in the US.

I got mine from www.uggstop.com.au during the summer. They cost €151 including a spare pair of insoles, a protective spray and postage and packing. Delivery time was less than 2 weeks because they send them airmail. I'm delighted with them.
The site has very good instructions on measuring for size.

ps; uggstop Uggs are made in Australia from Australian Merino sheepskin, some companies outsource theirs to China.

Wearing a pair right now and must say my toes are toasty!!!

If you know anyone going to the states ask them to get them. a friend got mine for me in Chicago and they were only €106!!!!

www.uggstop.com.au state very clearly in several places on their website, e.g. the Information section that their boots are not Ugg Australia boots. They explain that Ugg is a generic term used for sheepskin boots in Australia.

I think there is a bit of confusion when people talk about uggs. Most people who want 'real uggs' are looking for Ugg Australia ones which have never been made in Australia. There are loads of boots which look similar and tbh after being worn a few times will fall to bits.I hate the way girls wear them and the heels have collapsed to one side.
Ive never been lucky buying them online,i got caught with a fake pair of Ugg Australia boots last year,I even wrote to Ugg Australia to get them to stop the seller (ebay did NOTHING) and they sent me a pair to say thanks. That was fantastic of them but i had to pay customs to get them :
    (
I wouldnt recommend buying them on ebay, the pair i got were really good fakes and unless you had a real pair you would never know the difference.
There are a few stores online that deliver to Ireland and even if you have to pay duty it would still work out cheaper than buying here.I would recommend trying them on in a shop first though so you know what size to order.

I got a fake pair on ebay too. It was all very subtle but luckily I had the exact same pair to compare with and I could see the differences. I got a refund, surprised the seller basically admitted it.

    This guide really helped

dont buy the american uggs. uggs are an australian product which were ripped off by the american ugg brand and are made in china. Go to http://www.uggys.com/ i got a pair here when i was in oz and theyre really nice! There are plenty of other australian ugg websites which are cheaper than the american ones and are the real deal!

I dont like the way the tag on those boots from uggys.com looks like the ugg australia tag.
The majority of people want the Ugg Australia brand but ive heard that bearpaw ones are just as good and ive seen those in tkmaxx for about €40.

I think it's important not to get too hung up on brand names because that's how people can get ripped off, particularly buying online. What I wanted was a pair of well-made Uggs which are made from Australian sheepskin and that's what I got from uggstop. They're really well-made and comfy, and I was able to buy an extra pair of sheepskin insoles for when the ones inside get old.
Ugg Australia were just the first to make these boots popular.

You can say that if you want, but the majority of people want the ones I'm talking about. I'm not disputing quality or anything like that, but people want the branded ones and those are not 'proper' in that sense.

Got a request from my daughter to buy Size 2 UGGs. She appears to know the fakes from the real ones. Probably would not wear boots if believed to be fake, street cred etc.

Any suggestion on the best online option for Kids sizes? Are there any stores in Dublin that sell Kids ones? Thought there was one nearby but they have stopped selling the Kids ones this year. Is there a noticeable price difference between the Adult sizes and Kids one?

    Thanks in advance

I recently bought real ugg boots from alibaba.om, they come from China and are the genuine ones, They were 49euro and when they arrived I had to pay customs 7euro so they work out at under 60euro, you just go on that website and there are no pries so you ask how much they are, I bought a few pairs so it was cheap but it should still work out cheaper for you, as the ones I have I saw for 270 on Grafton Street a few weeks ago!

I bought the chocolate bailey button uggs in office on tuesday. €230 but got the 15% student discount so it worked out about €195. BARGAIN! :D

    27246400041806487160_thumb.jpg

The student card was my brothers, he was with me so I asked the girl could he use his card for the discount. She said yes so happy days!

I'm in love!! Been wanting to get them for ages! Definately worth purchasing! Was a bit weird though, it says on the website and a few people have said get a size smaller but when I tryed the size smaller it was too small, so had to get my normal size!

One of my friends said he bought his girlfriend a waterproofing spray for her uggs when in america. Anybody know where I can get that in Dublin? Thanks!

Hi I have the grey knitted ones and the normal brown pair and love the knitted ones! Defo defo would recommend trying on a pair before purchase. I am usually a four to a five and got a four as due to the flatness of the sole they are more roomier - also need to try them on as the indent of your big toe sticking out is not very attractive at all!! :D

I have had they for approx 1 & half years and the foot itself hasn't stretch the only part that has is the top rim but its unlikely you'll wear they stretched up your leg so it wont matter, and it only stretches due to changing how to wear them e.g. slouched down, folded over, buttons in, buttons out etc etc!

I know this is an old thread but just to clarify something.

Ugg boots are a style of boot. They are sheepskin boots with wool inside. Ugg Australia are the most popular and most desired brand of Ugg Boots and generally what are considered to be "real uggs"

However, to say that other brands of Ugg Boots are "fake" is incorrect. There may indeed be fake versions of Ugg Australia but there are plenty of reputable suppliers/producers of Ugg Boots.

The likes of this website www.uggstop.com.au do sell real uggs and to say they don't is incorrect. They do not sell Ugg Australia boots which they clearly state.

Ugg Boots are around > 100 years, I'm guessing long before Deckers started producing them.

i am considering getting uggs from the US, not necessarily from the web but didnt want to start a whole new thread on uggs cause theres loads already.

can anyone tell me if theyre large fitting? ive read they are. Id be a size 5 and im torn between US size 6 (uk 4.5) and US size 7 (uk 5.5). i wouldnt want them too loose but theyd look awful too small.

im possibly getting a friend of a friend who lives over there to buy them for me so i wont really be able to send them back so dont know what to do!

If you are getting the classic tall uggs a size US 7 should fit , im a UK 5 and wear a US 7 in both the classic tall and the ultimate tall.
Im not sure how the other styles fit, maybe have a look at the reviews on zappos.com. :)

They are a quite big fitting as the fur kind of mats done in them after a while.

    Get a size 5 UK(EU 38)(7 US) it will display 5.5 ignore this, they are a 5.

If you get the 6 they can get big after a while. Have you tried trying on a pair in town?

There are plenty of other australian ugg websites which are cheaper than the american ones and are the real deal!

The main manufacturer of Ugg boots is Deckers Inc, a US based global footwear corporation. They bought the rights to UGG Australia in 1995 from a US based Australian surfer Brian Smith who had trademarked them everywhere. This Aussie surfer had in turn bought the rights from the original trademark holder Shane Steadman who was another Australian surfer in Australia. Deckers Inc used to produce them in Australia until a few years ago. The Deckers Inc version are now produced in China, but cannot be sold from any Chinese depot.

The term Ugg is trademarked everywhere in the world by Deckers Inc, except Australia where an Australian court case decided that Ugg boot is a generic term there, since they have been around in Oz since about 1920. The good quality Australian Ugg boots are just as good as Deckers Inc, Ugg Australia ones. Mortels Sheepskin have been producing them in Australia since 1958. They still sell them and ship overseas: www.mortels.com.au

Deckers Inc may as well be a firm of lawyers, since they spend more money and effort on court cases than actually selling footwear. They have acquired smaller footwear companies around the world, move production to sweatshop friendly production countries and then pursue anyone else trying to compete with them. They also copy other styles from other manufacturers, and so are two-faced at best. As they are a part of corporate America, you should make your own mind up whether you want to be giving them any of your hard earned money.
