It's not cool to keep people in suspense, so here's the story so far.

Robert Ng is planning on moving to Limerick and opening a Thai Boxing Gym. Rob has been in Thailand fighting, on and off for the last 3 years. he is a qualified WMC instructor and has trained with greats like Baukaw, Namsaknoi, Nokwwed, RungChai and of course Anthony Corkery. Rob has trained in various camps all over Thailand and Hong Kong, including WMC Lamai Gym and Por Pramuk Gym, Rob orginally began his training and fighting out of Cork Thai Boxing.

Rob will be back in Ireland after Christmas and hopes to get things started in Limerick as soon as possible. If any gyms are interested in a Thai Boxing coach i would highly recommend him.

    nah joey

maybe in a good few years I'll move down but not for the foreseeable future, its a mate iof mine and if he does move down he'll start a place down there..

whats rob ng moving to limerick for... just you of curiosity and where is he now is he in thailand or travelling?

He's in Hong Kong now, moving back here after christmas, and in answer as to why he's moving to Limerick, he heard there were cheap houses going in O Malley Park.

he was planning on moving home and wanted to open a gym, no point in opening in Cork or Dublin no space for a new gym, so thought Limerick was perfect, no thai boxing there, already a few good mma clubs and (second best bjj club in munster) up there, so they would benefit from a thai club aswell.

So plan is to start small and go from there!

If you guys are still interested in training Muay Thai and have someone to coach it. I can make the Combat Sports Centre Gym in Caherline, limerick available one or two times during the week.

PM and let me know if interested

does anyone know yet if there is any judo in limerick or Clare?
would love to get some lessons
(not really interested in MMA just judo) thx

There isn't, to the best of my knowledge a jud club in the Limerick/Clare/Shannon area despite the wealth of interest. Since the UL club disbanded judo has been lacking in that region. There's a bJJ club in UL and BJJ is a worthy substitute for judo until something arises.
