in a fit of drunken madness a couple of weeks ago i decided to impulse buy one of these
    http://www.rsov.com/product_info.php?cPath=105_142_143&products_id=740
from e-hobby asia, really wanted an SPR from shiva but said i'd go for the cheaper one,

with delivery, sling and a pair of gloves thrown in €151. customs decided to hold the package and not tell me anything bout it, got one of them on the phone and he was kinda helpful, got an e-mail address and sent a copy of my pay pal reciept.

So it gets delivered today, again no indication that revenue had even actioned the e-mail never mind realeased the package, the nice sds man knocks at the door looking for €36.47 in fees and other crap, my dad has 30 blips on him so now we have to go pick it up and pay tomorrow (well he does :))
this is two weeks later for an AEG i didn't really want and has now cost as much as the SPR from Eirsoft, last time i try to be sensible with money

morale of the story support the local lads, no custom charges and no hassle with delvery (well less anyway)

I'm ashamed to say that I have yet to buy Irish.
Although in my defense, all my purchases bar one were pre eirsoft.ie ;)

My next one will be from you Shiva, I swear!

I would not let that experience put you off buy from abroad there are still a large number of items that you can still simple not get domestically thought (will point out have brought a number of items from Shiva always with fast great service:D)

Your problem is more to do with e-hobby asia and some other retailers who have a very nasty habit of quoting the wrong amount of the declaration papers for customs.

Wgc and some other places give use the option of saying how much we want on the papers but e-hobby just put a silly amount down i once had items down as 20dollars value for some stuff in the range of 200euros.

Customs seems to have these company's targeted that do this out of practice ,as I've always been asked to send in a bill with ehobby but never with wgcshop airsoft4war uncompany and dentrinity and nearly all of them have been left alone by customs and the only difference seems to be that the paper work is done in full and correct.

exactly, there is no shame in it shiva (well, er there is, but i am trying to make you feel better), you are what you are...maybe you could contact some support group or something? ;)

on a serious note, i do have to say thanks to the real suppliers of airsoft in ireland...eirsoft,mia,airsofteire

you have managed to do the balancing act of fair price and profit, never an easy thing and you need a congratulations for it...bravo!!

when i look at the Uk for example i see terrible gouging on airsoft bordering on insanity in some cases..., in fact i would not be suprised then when the VCRA thing is sorted out, you can expect business from there also..

Not going to happen. People in Britain have to buy British. Anybody who is not a registered company within the british version of the IIA will not be able to import guns.
