    Welcome to the Equestrian Forum

    General
This is the Equestrian forum, for the discussion of topics relating to Equestrian matters.

Do not post any personal information - the post will be edited. Use the PM system to exchange any contact details or personal information.

Also, do not use text speak. We will ban you and delete the post if you do.

    Medical Advice
This is not a medical board - any suggestions that relate to the treatment, feeding, medical state, general health etc of horses are only suggestions. If in doubt, contact a vet.

    Allegations against named individuals
Any slanderous / libellous comments against named indivduals will be deleted and the user banned for a month as per admin instructions here. While this relates to a different sport and forum, the underlying issues are similar to recent events involving members of the Irish Equestrian Team.
If you must post on such matters, be very careful in what you say as we will ban at the slightest suggestion of slander / libel. If in doubt, PM us first.

    Flaming
Posts containing personal attacks on another user will be edited/deleted. Attack the post, not the poster. Minor infringements will warrant a warning followed by a ban. Serious infringements and/or intentional flaming will receive an automatic ban.

    Images
Posting of images is welcome, however please make sure that you have permission to post the image!

    Advertising
If you are selling tack - please use www.adverts.ie as there are no sales permitted on boards.ie.
The selling / brokering of sales of horses is prohibited in both boards and adverts.

The advertising of services is prohibited - all threads will be deleted and the user banned. Please contact hello@boards.ie if you want to purchase advertising.

    Spamming
Topics/posts that are just complete nonsense will be deleted.

    Shilling
A shill is a user who plugs things on the sly. Any user found out to be a shill will be perm-banned from boards. You have been warned.

    Racism
Topics/posts containing such will be edited/deleted accordingly.

    Reporting Posts
If you have a problem with any post or notice that a post is in breach of the Charter, then use the 'report post' button report.gif

    'Thanks' Function
Please feel free to leave "thanks" for any poster that has been helpful towards you, however this is entirely your responsibility. Asking or demanding thanks is not allowed and offences will be deleted , and may result in infractions and banings.

    Other
As per boards.ie rules, distribution or aiding the distribution of illegal material is completely forbidden.

Please don't drag up old threads, especially to advertise or plug businesses, services, yards, or goods. Such posts will be deleted and the user banned.

All other standard boards.ie rules and guidelines stand.

This Charter is a guide, not an exhaustive list.

If you have any questions, PM the mods: Borderfox or convert.

As per new general boards.ie guidelines, if you have a query about moderator actions please consult the CMods (sparks or uberwolf) first and then HELPDESK, rather than posting in the Feedback forum. The Helpdesk forum is located here.

Any derailment of a thread by the continued discussion of moderator actions will result in your posts being deleted and a ban being issued.

Just to emphasis there is to be NO ADVERTISING OF HORSES FOR SALE/WANTED/LOANS.

Anyone who does so will be banned from the forum

Feel free to post details/notices about upcoming events that you feel may be of interest to other members. However, please post them in the upcoming events thread. Notices which are posted in a thread of their own will be deleted.

The boards.ie Disputation Resolution Process is as follows:
    Dispute resolution procedure

    1. If you have a problem with a post, thread or a ban from a forum, the first step should be a PM to the moderator in question. If you are not comfortable with PM'ing that particular mod, you can PM the other mods of that forum. You will find the list of the mods at the bottom of the forum in question. If you have been banned from a forum it is still possible to enter it to see who the mods are by logging out of boards.ie first.
    2. If you are not happy with the outcome of the above, then you can start a thread in the DRP forum (Sys -> Helpdesk), where a CMod and/or Admin can get involved.

    Things not to do

    1. Argue with a mod on thread - This is just so that the thread doesn't become derailed by something other than the topic of the thread
    2. Start a new thread in the forum you are having a problem in
    3. Start a thread in Feedback
    4. Send abusive PMs (this will earn you a siteban)

The post which contains the above information can be found here.
