    hi all,
coming to the point where i need to get groundswork on the house done. our planning mentions that we have to go with a treatment unit as our septic tank. i know of several people with these units in and they are nothing but hassle! most of them have them turned off.
of course there is a huge price difference also; 4500 for the one i would think best in the treatment unit compared to less than 1000 for a normal concrete septic tank.
i have mentioned to our engineer is there any way around this and he says he can't sign off on a normal concrete tank.
my friends, who have them in, are warning me to get around it. how can i?
could i buy a cheap treatment unit and take it out again after the engineer signs off for it? then flog it to someone else who does want it?
or do i just bare it and spend the 4500 on the concrete 3 section tank which uses a EPS aquamax pump that has a yearly maintenance cost of 280 euro along with the electricity to run it?
there is a house next door with a normal septic tank and it has not caused any problems for the last 40 years! stupid planning conditions!

i am sure there are people out there in the less fertile lands of ireland who may have experienced this? any ideas/experiences on this?

    rant over! :)

No no no. Your engineer was correct in saying he couldnt sign of on it.

Now you are looking for a way to circumvent planning conditions which is in breach of the charter - read before you post.

    Red card - 1 week

    Oh and thread locked
