My chorus went earlier tonight, I rang tech support and they told me they would book me in for a service next week. I wasn't happy at the thought of waitng 1 whole week for a technician to call, so i went playing with the settings...bad idea:(

I went into the menu, then 'installation' menu, then 'set top box installation' and then press 'reset'

Now everytime I start the box up it goes straight to the 'Network Configuration' Screen.

    My settings are :

    Network Number: 12552
    Frequency in KHz: 834000
    Symbol Rate: 68750
    Modulation: 64

When I press 'OK' to confirm these settings it takes me to a screen thats says...

    Your Network's Name is: ?

No matter what buttons i push on the remote it wont let me enter anything on this screen, is there any way out of this:confused:

The reason you are getting this message is because you are not receiving a signal, the box will automatically pick up the correct settings itself...when connected to a proper signal..

Think you might be right, when i go to the signal infomation page its telling me i'm not getting any signal. All my cables are connected properly.

The problem began when I moved the digibox to a higher shelf on my TV unit, when I plugged the cables back into the box again my channels were gone. Could I have damaged one of the connections at the back of the box?

    The settings are simply wrong.
There is nothing at 834000 khz. Depending on your area it should be 322000 or 324000 khz.

I've tried a few different settings but no luck.

When i go into the signal information page i get the following:

    Carrier lock: NO
    Frame lock: NO
    Bit error rate: _ _ _ _
    Frequency offset: _ _ _ _
    Signal strength: TOO LOW

Does this mean that its a problem with my signal? My neighours in the apartment below me have no problem with their signal, should it not be the same for the whole building?

Check the network screen at the box of your neighbour and you will see valid network number and frequency for your area.
Be carefull and don't reset the other box.

I copied his settings and put them into my box but its still not finding a network. Like i say, my box shows signal strength: TOO LOW. Could that be my problem? Isn't it a bit odd the the bloke ho lives downstairs has no problem with his signal? I thought we would both be off the same feed?

make sure you have not disconnected your power inserter..
this little box is sending 18v+ up to the downconverter on the roof so it can convert the microwave frequency down to a level than can be tuned by your box..

Whats a power inserter? Is it the little white box that plugs into the tv aeriel point on the wall?
If so, then i have it connected, is it possible it got damaged somehow? I dont think it got a knock or anything.

I'm still waiting for a chorus techie to call out, they originally schedulded one for 8 days after the problem began, but arranged the appointment for a time I wasn't available, after i specifically told them to make the appointment for earlier in the day, useless! So I'm trying to resolve this myself if I can, could be waiting another week for them to show a face.
