Saw a guy in the Irish Times Magazine about two weeks back, though I don't remember his name, I'm afraid. I think he has a website. Hope that's some help at least.

Are you just starting-out? If so I definately wouldn't spend a lot on one. You can get beginners' ones in Walton's for low prices.

Conor Russell, think he lives in Wicklow. I'm not a Violinist, but I hear he's reasonable enough pricewise.

Try out the Galway makers. Kevin Sykes and Paul Bradley. You can find their websites on line. They are both very good. They wll charge a bit above 3000 euros though.

Heard one by Jeremie LeGrand in Ballygarvan, Cork. Beautiful sound although was worth a lot more than your budget but might be worth checking out others he might have.

Saying that I picked up mine by pure accident for very little & it turned out to be worth a good bit more. So keep your eyes & ears open & don't let price be the main driver of your choice, sound all the way :-) Good luck!

I think if this person hasn't found their violin in five years, they're never going to find it. Locked.
