The father's receiver has lost RTE and BBC and other stations, it still picks up all the sky channels, CH4 etc... Its an old Pace Sky Digibox. I've been reading on other posts where there may be missing transponders (what does that mean?) and that you need to go and rescan on the astra2 satellite and include new tp's??? That sounds like something I've seen on my own ferguson FTA box but on looking thru the setup menus on his Pace box I cant see anything remotely concerning scanning satellites or anysuch jargon.

    Any help out there?

rescanning transponders is only necessary on FTA boxes.

Sky digiboxes should do all that automatically

What message do you get when you select 101, 102 etc on the EPG ?

Its possible thats its your LNB (the bit on the dish that the cable attaches to) rather than the box thats faulty

Have you tried plugging the box out from the mains for a minute and rebooting?

The message when we select 101 102 etc is 'no satellite signal being received'.

The modern sky+ box in the other room shows all the channels no problem, seems to be a quad LNB outside from my limited knowledge.

Am hoping he will plug it out from the mains like I've just rung and told him to although he reckons he's tried that before.......

Same thing happened to me. Tested cable from LNB, changed LNB, checked dish alignment and still same.

Turned out it was the old Grundig decoder. Changed to a new one and all OK.
