Obsessed with the purity I don't have.

In the past year or so I've become so obsessed with purity. Babies make me sad because they're so innocent. And I'm always getting upset with myself if I have sex or watch a violent movie or even masturbate. I feel I'm this horrible monster and I just want to be a kid again. I can't accept growing up for some reason.

I masturbate. I watch violent movies. I've lied and I've hated. But I can still look myself in a mirror knowing im an inherently good person; with my own set of morals which i like to think is upheld a little higher than most people seem to uphold theirs.

example: its masturbating, not molestation. Its sex, not rape. its a violent movie, not genocide. its hate, not murderous intent.

EDIT: and yeah, I recall back in years past when I thought **** was disgusting. Its human: Thats the part you will need to get to grips with.

How about you go and have a chat to a counsellor to this? It sounds like you might have some deep seeded feelings about yourself and the world around you, which for some reason are taking over your day to day thoughts. I would say most people get these thoughts, but experience them in a more 'fleeting' manner. Its not fair on you to be overanalysing and polarising everyday things.

I went through the EXACT same thing. In my case I think it was because I needed to break away from old friends who were a bad influence and bringing me down, move on and re evaluate my life and change things that needed to be changed. I also talked to a counsellor which helped. Has anything particular happened in your life to start these thoughts off?
