    He he, I'm planning a trip to Amsterdam, just need to know "What date will Easter Monday fall on in 2008?", as I'm not 100%.

    Aye; it was in the papers a while back that they'd fall on the same day - with more chance of St. Patrick's Day being bumped than Easter Monday - how did they work that out?
    "Easter should be the first Sunday after the first full moon occurring on or after 21 March. This means that the earliest possible date for Easter Sunday in any year is 22 March, the latest is 25 April"*. We must be confused.
    OP: According to t'Internet - 24 Mar?

    What date will Easter Monday fall on in 2008?

    Here, calculate it yourself for ANY year:

    Easter:=proc(y)
    > # This procedure takes in the year and returns the date of Easter Sunday
    > # If the result of the calculation d+e>9 then the month is April
    > # If the date in April falls on the 25th or 26th then a further check is performed
    > # The procedure is checked against the years given and also with 1943, 1954 and 1981
    > # to check the further constraints
    > local a,b,c,d,e,es,month;
    > a:=modp(y,19);
    > b:=modp(y,4);
    > c:=modp(y,7);
    > d:=modp(19*a+24,30);
    > e:=modp(2*b+4*c+6*d+5,7);
    > if d+e>9 then es:=d+e-9;
    > month:=April;
    > else es:=d+e+22;
    > month:=March end if;
    > if d+e-9=26 then es:=19
    > elif d+e-9=25 and d=28 and a>10 then es:=18 end if;
    > printf("For %a, Easter Sunday is %a %a\n",y,month,es);
    > end proc;

    You need to run

    seq(Easter(y),y=2008..2020);

    to get the answer. Replace 2008..2020 with the years you want. This calculates Easter Sunday, but I'm sure you'd manage to work out Easter Monday from the results. (Hint:
    There's nothing in here
    )

    P.S. You'll also need a copy of Maple or adapt the above for another programming language.

    P.P.S. Why'd nobody else think of this answer? Give a man a fish and feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.

    Is it on the 24th March?

    I know they're on about having Paddys day on Saturday 15th because it "can't be during holy week"

    I've never heard anything so ridiculous? It's either March 17th or it isn't?! So that would mean Easter Sunday is 23rd March!

    I'm probably wrong! :rolleyes:

    If it weren't for hostility we wouldn't have Easter in the first place.
