Ooh, interesting! How does Kaspersky compare with NOD32? I'm considering one of them. I believe NOD32 has a very small memory footprint.

kasper runs at 3mb and it never uses the cpu .It also does malware etc.

OK, as it's cheaper than NOD with the discounts, it's hard to turn down :)

    Thanks Ruu!

Hmm, it wasn't installed 3 minutes when it found a virus that was ignored by Avast! AV.

    Tis a good start :)

Installed the anti virus program, told me there was an incompatibility with Comodo firewall!!! I did not buy Kaspersky Internet Security because I had Comodo installed, just installed and running a scan, not sure if Kaspersky Anti-Virus includes a basic firewall, im reluctant to use XP's one, will delve more deeply into this after work this evening, Ruu thanks for the find, nice one

Bogman, I did the same thing and had to remove Zonealarm. Didn't feel too safe so I gave Kaspersky a call and I explained that I bought the wrong one. So they gave me a refund and I purchased the internet suite. check out their site for their number

Got this myself and am very happy with it

    Cheers, good find.

bogman: You could install the free version of Online Armor which is one of the most highly rated firewalls (See here). The version you pay money for has the Kaspersky Antivirus Engine integrated so I wouldn't think the free version will conflict with the Kaspersky Antivirus.

Talisman and Keano A Legend, thanks responses, good news was thre was no threats found by anti virus program, it would be a shame to think that you would have to discard a fine free firewall and now get the Kaspersky Internet Security at an added cost (take away a bit from the good deal here)
By the way removing Comodo automatically turned XP's firewall back on.
I will try installing Online Armor and report back on how that goes

All those who bought KIS or KAV I would advise turning off the iswift and ichecker options on all scans - it has done weird things to some folks files (adding object identifiers so as to speed up future scans), apparently it then conflicts with Windows own chkdsk program.

    Hey all,

    Which option should you buy

    1. Internet security or
    2. Anto Virus

Running of Vista and have windows firewall.

    Thank you!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,525 ✭✭✭Tony H

the free Comodo 3 firewall works quite well with Vista and Kasperski Anti Virus , with this combination you can disable the built in vista firewall.
