PS3 interfearing with digital tv

i bought a PS3 last week and have it hooked up to the tv through the scart adapter that came with it.
when the scart is conected to the tv it causes it to interfear with the digi box, whether the PS3 is turned on doesn't make a difference. its causing a "humming" noise as well as lines going verticaly down the screen.
i can play games no problem put i have to disconnect the scart from the tv when i want to turn on the digi box. i've swaped the scart connectors from the PS2 but it didn't make a difference.

anyone else had this problem? or if anyone could shed some light on how i could fix it i'd be very greatfull.

    cheers

Do you have the PS3 plugged direct into TV or into a shared SCART adapter?
IMO those SCART splitters/adapters are junk and only cause issues like you are seeing.

It might be the other way around ,it might be the box that is causing the issues with the ps3.

Maybe the scart lead is not properly insulated.

I had similar problems and I traced it back to the booster on the tv cable.

Have you tried disconnecting everything from the Tv ?
Then one by one ,connect each connection starting with the ps3

You could try connecting the ps3 (or digibox) via composite and see if it makes a difference.

I got this problem myself ,as soon as I hooked my pc sound up to my stereo.

The av-multi connection on the ps3 was causing the problem, I was using it for sound .I have a hdmi lead to the tv ,it's fine with that.

I wouldn't say it's the quality of the lead ,it must have something to do with the earth loop problem.
