    Hey folks,

Stargazer Entertainment, a brand new management company set up by four final year music management students are currently looking for a talented act to work with on a promotional campaign as part of a college assignment.

Basically we will be doing a number of activities for your band during a seven month campaign Nov-May including, (booking gigs/tours for your band, promoting your band ie radio play, internet promotion, etc.). There is also a 2000 euro prize for the best campign which goes toward your band if successful which could be used for a single release of nationwide tour in March.

We are four energetic, bright, hardworking individuals who are open minded and very easy to get on with.

So if your band would be interested in working with us on a seven month campaign let me know.

Thanks for your time, all the best,

    Conor

    Hi lad,

It's Lauren here. I think my bass player contacted you already. We're a 3-piece rock band based in Dublin called LAUREN GUILLERY & THE CLAWS.

We've loads of gigging experience under our belt, played all over Ireland and up North supporting acts such as Cathy Davey, Nina Hynes & The Mighty Stef, and will be playing with God Is An Astronaut, Dark Room Notes and twinKranes in the next coming months.

We've an EP out which sold out in Tower Records and Road Records and are currently recording our first single which will hopefully be ready to send out to record companies & national radio stations mid-december.

I won the 'Best International Act' at the Balcony TV music awards this year, played support to Aslan and been on tour with Leanne Harte and her band as a solo act.

We're better than any band out there, have very energetic live performances & get radio play on Phantom and other local radio stations, alas we've no manager to get us where we should be.

We've been managing ourselves up until now but it's quite difficult these days cos we still have a full-time job and rehearse 2 to 3 times a week. I personally would rather spend my time writing music than calling around looking for gigs and looking after promo/advertising.

Do you think you can help us move forward and get us where we're meant to be?

    Then get in touch!

    Lauren

No thanks. MySpace affords folks the luxury of making ones mind up before wasting time going to a gig. There's very little about a 3pc rock band that would excite, unless you're Cream or The Police maybe.

    Hi

Next year Paranoid Visions will be releasing two 7" singles featuring covers of classic and long lost irish punk and new wave tracks, this will be followed with an album of our own material. We have been planning on taking a company on board to do manage the project with us for press, plugging, country gigs etc, we already ahev a number of gigs booked and UK / european festival dates confirmed. We have our own record label and a licensing and export deal for the UK, and a lot of contacts within the industry which enabled us to get a certain amount of coverage for our last album.

It sounds like your project may be a good fit.

Has anyone got a reply from these guys?
I PM'd the other day but got no response. Just wondering out of interest

    Nope,

And I'm gettin tired of promotion companies doing this, advertising on here and not responding

On the flipside, some of the arrogance displayed so far would convince anyone to run a mile.
Quick tip, if you want to get anywhere you have to learn how to approach people properly. "Here's our myspace, check us out" is not an adequate way of respresenting yourself. It smacks of laziness tbh.

To be fair to the OP, they came on, gave some background info and put themselves across quite well. If anything it's the the replies that have been ridiculous.

    Hi all,

Apologies to anyone who we didn`t get around to replying to, we were blown away by the amount of interest and messages recieved. I think half the acts in Ireland contacted us so sorry if we havn`t got back to you was just so much response we couldn`t possibly reply to everyone.

We have found some acts that we would like to work with so we are not looking for anymore acts for the moment.

Thanks again to everyone and best of luck with everything.

    All the best,

    Conor

    Hiya -

I'm not a band - but I am a pretty good singer songwriter. I am actively looking for representation (aren't we all?) but why don't I let my songs speak for themselves?
