Strange questions there... Profession is not a reason to marry a male in Ireland -- certainly not unless you are extremely shallow.

You could get a million answers for what's the most interesting profession!

rammstein71 - In Ireland, people generally do not marry someone because of their profession.

As for what profession is most interesting - well that depends on what you are interested in.

I'd be willing to bet that the OP can constuct better sentences in your first language, than you can in his.

It is quite obvious that English is not the OP's first language & he may not have phrased his question the way he meant it. The OP may also have a culturally different view of what is important for a successful marriage.

    Cut him some slack.

thanks for your answer. sorry about my very bad english.

it is true, my first language is NOT english. i`m from germany and my first language is german. i think it is normal when i come from germany. thank you very much for your understanding. i hope you`ll make another experience when you come over to a country where you will make your own german-language. thank you very much. not every country will speaks english i think. i`m very glad about your experience in one of our countries.

in germany it is very important which profession you have, when you want to get marry a woman. i dont like that occurence, but that is the situation in germany. i wanted to know how the situation in ireland like this. thats all. i didn`t know, that it ask one of the language is.

i hope the real situation is another one in ireland (covered on the language) when i arrive there, as one of your trip to a german country.

    thank you very much.

Yeah, that's kind of fucked up. Two jobless people can marry in this country. You don't "have" to be in a job to marry, but it helps to have one, to buy stuff for the missus(wife, girl-friend, etc).

the question is, can i get a relationship, when i dont have a profession in ireland (independent of a job or a profession)? in the context of that, which girl or men wants to get marry with me, if i would`nt become a profession? would be there someone? THAT is the question. i want to find out, what is the different between germany and ireland and (probably) all countries over the world. the most important thing is, what you are thinking about this? is there any different points of view between the different countries?

While I can't speak for every Irish person, I would think that no, the individuals profession would have little baring on weather they will be successful in finding someone to marry or not.

My view on your question is, while trying to find a partner I only ask that they have a job, I don't care what manner of job it is just as long as they work, I wouldn't consider getting into a serious relationship with someone whose unemployed.

And THAT is the name of the game. You will get some stuck up cows who won't touch you unless your family has money, you have a car, and your own house... and you will get some women who won't care if you're only getting minimum wage at the local supermarket.

Also, as you're from a different way of thinking, do you equal "profession" as:
    • a trade, such as a plumber, electrician, etc
    • as a job that you need to be certified for, such as an accountant, a banker, etc
    • or any job, be it stocking shelves, building, designing the buildings?
I think when you answer this, we may have a better grasp on what you mean by "profession".

Finally, any links to articles that state how Germans need to be of a "profession" to wed would help me see where you're coming from. The articles can be in english or German.

Some people marry for wealth/power and some for love. Theres all kinds of different people. Same the world over.

This is not a work related query, but a personal/social question.
