Ryanair Online Check-IN info

Flying tomorrow morning. returning Wednesday night. I have an online check-in reservation cos it's free now, with airport check-in not free. Do I have to check-in seperately for the return leg of my journey, i.e. find an internet cafe in Liverpool and Check-in there? Or is the outbound boarding pass good for both?

Cheers. I need a fairly quick reply.

You need separate boarding pass for return flight. Check in from 48 hrs till flight onwards.
In the case where a web cafe is hard to find, you can have RA reissue a boarding card at the airport for around a fiver.

Thanks for the reply mate. It's a bit daft of Ryanair to make this their free option as surely it's more of a nuisance to get on the internet at your destination and then print out your boarding pass, than it is to check-in at the airport. Though I know I'm being naive, that's probably the exact reason they have arranged it this way, in order to pick up a lot of fivers for an airport check-in.

Most hotels nowadays have internet access - and if they dont have public access I'm sure they'd be kind enough to check you in on their business PC..

Ryanair in attempt to make even more money-shocker

You either pay the 4-5 quid for a boarding pass or do what I did and spend an hour wandering looking for a net cafe, pay 2 quid for access and 50c for a print out...and then quite possibly have Ryanair staff refuse your boarding pass on the grounds that it's not printed in colour (this didn't happen me, but it happens)

Too late to help you but you could have printed both out on Monday night as returning within the 48hr window.

no its not true. However but if the barcode isnt printed on the boarding card then they wont accept it.

    Not true?
I had two friends of mine during the summer have problems flying from Dublin with monochrome print offs (barcode was present and intact)...some bint at the boarding gate decided to take issue with the lack of colour and it took a bit of structured arguing and an appeal to other staff to make her see sense.
I don't know if it's policy or just a one-off on behalf of the bint in question, but it happened. Last time I was away I travelled back on a monochrome print out and I was waiting to be challeneged but it was grand...

Is it 48 hours before the departure time of the return flight or before the normal check in time of the return flight? For example, if I'm flying away tomorrow morning, and coming back Tuesday night with the flight departing at 10pm, can I check in tonight at 10.01 pm and print both boarding passes or can I do it any earlier? Like I read somewhere before you can check in 2 days before. Sunday is 2 days before Tuesday, but do they really mean 48 hours?

Also, how strict are they on hand luggage dimensions? If your bag can be squashed to the right dimensions, is it ok?

And how safe is the long term car park and is there a height restriction for vehicles?

48 hrs prior to the flight time. AFAIK the system won't let you check-in before that.

Luggage, I've never been checked. Unless it's obviously oversize they don't pay much attention.

No idea on the carpark stuff.

If you are flying both fights within the timeframe allowed for on line check in,then you can do both and print both.

Long term carpark at Dublin? I've not seen any height restriction bar's there.
It's as safe as any open car park.
I wouldn't leave uninsured valuables in a car or van in any open air car park.
Though there may be security, the car park is huge with 1000's of cars so it's a thief's playground in my opinion.

    On board carry on-That depends.
BA are very strict as are EI at times.I simply don't know Ryanair's policy as I wouldn't fly with them if they paid me.But I'd imagine, charge friendly as they are that if you got someone on a bad day then you might end up in hassle.
It's up to you whether you want to take the risk.

Thanks for the info :) what's the story with the scrambled barcode on the boarding pass? Doesn't look like a regular barcode with straight lines, it's all over the place??

Just a different kind of barcode

Yes. Subject to Ryanair's weight limit of 10kg for hand luggage (only one piece allowed) and the size of the bag. The allowed dimensions are on the website.
