    Hi,
I am a disillusioned academic scientist and really want to change my career direction. I have been reading a little about some science related fields such as intellectual property, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs and technology transfer and i was wondering if anyone has any experience in any of these areas and can give me advice about where one starts looking for jobs in these areas, the types of salaries that I should expect (I have a PhD in biology and a degree in Biotechnology) considering I don't have industry experience (but I do have 3 years of international academic experience and am looking to return to Ireland).
    Any help greatly appreciated :)
    Thanks

Enterprise Ireland do a lot on commercialisation of research. Consequently there are many IP based spin-off companies from university research groups. Working in this area might be in ideal transition for you.

It might be worth considering the patent office. I am not sure it would suit what you are looking for but it might be worth a google to see if what they are recruiting and for how much.
