East Midlands Airport would probably be the nearest, depending where you're eventually headed

Ryanair fly from Shannon/Dublin/Cork to EMA

(In fact the airport is now called Nottingham, East Midlands, Lecister and Derby airport!)

It would very much depend on where exactly you are going. East Midlands would probably be the nearest but Luton or Birmingham may give better transport connections.
