I'm lacking in both so now that we've cleared that up anyone who wants to be helpful feel free!

If you're lacking in both, you need to get them.
Re the tan, a fake-tan is actually preferable, so that should be easy enough to sort.

Once you've got them, then the business courses in DCU are quite reputable afaik. However I've heard they have a very high drop-out rate.

You're best bet is to come to the open days in DCU (16th/17th Nov -> I'm NOT 100% on the dates) and then you'll get to talk to real lecturers and real students about the courses in detail.

Those dates are good. This Fri and Sat. I'd recommened you come in as well.

Afaik, its a good course and DCU is well known for producing great graduates.

I'm doing business and it's ok. I've done a lot of the stuff I'm doing in first year in previous courses though so at times it's a little tedious. I'm sure it'll pick up next semester when I start law and things. This semester we do foundations of information systems (IT without a computer in front of you), maths which involves things like functions and graphs related to business, economics which so far seems to have been leaving cert standard so if you've done that before you're set, basic accounting and a psychology module. You can choose to do a language or else there's a business innovation module.

    Hi Tasha,

Im in final year if biz niz in grand aul DCU.
In final year you specialise in either Law, HR, Finance, E-Commerce or what I picked, Marketing.
The first 2 years give a solid grounding in all of these subjects and the course itself is highly respected when it comes job hunting.

I found first and second year to be fairly handy, we had the odd project to do during semesters and a couple of weeks study saw me do fairly well in the exams. This year on the other hand is tough, the marketing specialism is worst off for continuous assessment, we have 10 assignments due in the space of 4 weeks which is quite a lot of work to be getting on with.:(

If you choose to do the course I'd definitely recommend doing the optional years work experience (Intra). You get fully paid & the chance to work for successful companies.

Hi tasha. Im in final year of Business Studies at the moment. As rayfitz said, the first 2 years are actually pretty handy, giving a broad grounding in the various areas of business and in final year you specialise in finance, law, e-commerce, marketing or human resouce management. Im doing finance and the difficulty definitely steps up in final year, but its still manageable (I hope, lol). AFAIK, the course has a good reputation and is a very good qualification to have and also has the year of work placement you can do if you want. I have 11 hours of lectures a week this year, first and second year I had 12 hours a week (and 6 hours of tutorials). Workload for the first 2 years wasnt heavy at all from what I remember and the finance specialism has very little continuos assessment or assignments to do
