Vokera mynute fails to ignite

I have a frequent fault on my Mynute 28e where after the initial fire up of the system, the boiler will refuse to ignite again until the system is either powered off for ~15 mins and back on, or is left to its own devices for more than an hour... not good at this time of year.
The boiler was installed in 2003.
Anyhow, Vokera replaced the main PCB last year at a cost of €220 and this fixed it, but now it has reoccurred again.

The symptoms are that the system will try it's ignition sequence as normal, powering up the fan and you can hear the air-flow switch click (or the relay). At that point it will either stop and not try to fire the spark, or the spark will fire for 1 second and then fall back. This is cyclic and occurs every minute.

Does anybody know what the issue is? I have Vokera coming out later this week and they said that they will cover the price of the part (under the statuary 1 year warranty on replacement parts) but the labour is charged to me (€160). Considering I spent €250 on attempted repairs with another company before calling Vokera themselves last year, I want to avoid having to do this next year again...

Any clues?

Hi I have the 28e and have had the PCB, MCB and ICB changed all under warrenty.

I would say that they will try the PCB 1st and if that does not fix it they will try the ICB.

Does the Green light go to red ???

Does any error number appear on screen.... The Boiler manual gives a list of error code messages.

I had a similar problem but it only flashed up the error for about 1 second then turned off.

the replaced teh MCB and it was fine

Hi Gary, the thing is that my unit is not under the manufacturers warranty, only the main board was replaced less than a year ago (chargable to me) it's covered. So, to replace all of these would cost me €300 ontop of the service charge!

I get no errors, and never have done.

Please explain what each of these board are -
ICB - is the ignition module.
PCB - is what?
MCB - is what also?

I have all three here

ICB Ignition
MCB Master Circuit board
and sorry I have the CB Control Board with the error code dial on it

You can have all three if you want (I dont think there is anything wrong with them as Vokera Guy left them behind the 3 time being out. )

I live in Navan or I work in Sandyford if you want to try them out

I may take you up on this - I do have a main board and ignition module left over myself, but I think the main board is dead alright... I'll get back to you tomorrow.

hi i have a vokera 12e and the p.c.b. borde has start makeing a load clicking noise and boiler wont fire ,,,, anybody have an idea ????
