    Hi,

Anyone recommend a good spot in the Swords area for night time running? Ideally, somewhere fairlywell lit, with minimal traffic interference and on grass/softer surfaces. Usually head down around Airside but if there's somewhere better I'd love to know.

I take it you run from home and back again, reason I ask is that at this time of the year unless you drive there is not a lot of well lit grassy areas.

The playing fields at the fire station are grand during the longer evenings, only problem I have with grass particularly rough tracks around fields is it's so easy to turn an ankle.

If you could drive, I would suggest heading to the ALSA running track just beyond the airport which is lit. My wife is a member but I'll be honest I don't know their policy on non members running on the track.

Another option is running around the estuary which is lit in areas but again you'll need to drive there.

A usefull website is mapmyrun.com which I use myself, there is the option to search a certain area as in Swords for maps of other peoples runs

I often run from city centre to Swords (I live in Lusk, and get a lift the rest of the way as roads between Swords and Lusk are not really suitable for running), so how about running in towards town?

Admitedly the bit between Swords and Santry is pretty dull (but safe), but after that there is a huge variety of routes in different directions.....e.g. Griffith Avenue, Fairview, Clontarf etc. Or even as far as Phoenix Park for the longer runs.
