:mad:Was in Break for the Border on friday night. Absolutely pathetic entertainment. The DJ had a Kareoke, usually good craic with people making a show of themselves. What proceeded to happen was the DJ getting people up to first tell a joke (on the spot) and then sing. It was pathetic, is this the best they can think of, honestly? A city centre bar in the heart of the tourist district in the capital city of one of the most prosperous and wealthy countries in the world.

How does Ireland have this reputation as a land of party animals? The Aussie's and American's - now they know how it's done. You go to bars over there and you have people dancing on tables, water fights, etc, - you know, something different! We just do the same old sh*t every week.

You want water fights in a Dublin Bar in November?
Each to their own I suppose, but having pneumonia over Christmas doesn't really appeal.

Anyway, as the previous poster said, it's a sh1thole.

Fact number 1: Break for the border is a pathetic excuse for a club and should not represent nights out in Ireland

Fact number 2: Americans are no fun. If ever you've tried to have a bit of craic on a night out in America you'll know this.

I don't know about the pub (I've never been in it)

But you are right about Americans being no fun!

yeah maybe you werent in the best bar but where in oz did you see people dancing on tables and having water fights?? australia has some of the strictest bars ive ever been in!! their "responsiblesale of alcohol" rule means that you cant even wobble a bit on high heels in front of a bounce without gettin thrown out!! well that was my experience of sydney anyway! loved the place, defo going back but your very wrong about them havin a better time than us!

they do this in backpacker bars, namely in Cairns(woolshed) and Byron Bay etc, Aussies are dumb and boring and can't handle their drink - nice people though

never made it to the woolshed :( but generally aussie bars arent crazy places or any more entertaining than irish bars! other than they have the weather on their side which makes for fantastic beer gardens, but thats it!
