Great fight! we are really getting spoiled these last few weeks, very impressed with Miguel, like his forward crouched style. Mosley was fantastic also and made a great effort, perhaps looked for the big shot too often in the early rounds. Maybe if he stuck to boxing and moving a points win would have been possible. Cotto though was well ahead in my book.

it was great alright, right up to the end! we are having great boxing this year and in credit a lot of it to goldenboy productions who are putting on the fights the fans want, and the likes of setanta in ireland..

Great fight, fair play to sugar he tried and tried and pulled it back a bit, ran out of ideas in the middle rounds which was his downfall, when Cotto took a round off in the 9th he used it as a platform to win a couple of rounds. Some decent overhand rights from Sugar but they didn't hurt enough.

Would love to see cotto face the winner on the Hatton fight or Hatton win/lose. Very interested to see Hatton at 147 to see if it suits him if I does I can see those two providing a classic.

Funny,...i've watched the fight 2wice now,..once on hbo live , and setanta replay the next day.

the commentry was sooooo different, HBO were talking about problems in cotto's corner , and injury inside his mouth , and how well Sugar was doing which was how i saw it.
Looking at setanta , that one commentator was sooo pro-Cotto it was hard to believe.

As a steady gambler , the rule in boxing is to ignore commentry and analyse the match in your own mind.
People think that the commentators should know more than a fan does, ... so the commentator must be right.... not the case at all.

I remember in the World snooker championship , the commentator(dennis taylor) got it wrong and led people to believe that a 147 was on,... I knew the yellow was the first colour potted and made a healthy day's wages.

Never trust a commentator on a fight, thats all Im saying.
If you get the chance to watch the fight again on HBO youtube,... you see a totally different coverage of the match.

Mind you,..I dont know how Cotto walked thru all those bombs from Mosley.
Hats off to the Puerto rican, also respect to Sugar Shane who never looked hurt .

I agree with you there if you watch a fight with the sound turned down you see a different fight.Tszyu and hatton was alot closer on the scorecards than the commentators/crowd would have you believe hatton was still winning on points when tszyu retired on his stool but only by a round or two.

Cotto proved he has a granite chin mosley didnt even rock him with those right hands.

Mayweather would beat him at 147 but hatton would have to fight him at 140 to have any chance.

Guys I don't know about the commentary , watched it on Setanta and straight away said to my wife these guys are muppets. I really felt that Cotto dominated the fight except for maybe 4 rounds, but I felt Mosley even in those rounds only achieved parity. Sure he hit him with thunderous right hands but in a way it reminded me of Kessler v Calzaghe, where Joe worked all throughout and Kessler punched hard but sparingly. Shane's jab was not effective, Cotto's jab was demoralising and accurate.

I was agreeing in general about the commentators/crowd influencing you when your watching a fight.

I'm a hatton fan and I hope hatton dosen't fight cotto at welter he's way too big for him.

Cotto controlled it I thought,on some other boxing forums they were saying mosley should of won and for the life of me i couldn't see that at all.
