DTT from Wales

    Hi

I am in Howth, Co. Dublin and can currently pick up the Welsh analogue channels from Blaenplwyf (but not any DTT signals). Once the the analogue signals from Wales are switched off, will the DTT signals be strong enough to be available in Dublin? Also, what kind of aerial would be needed to pick them up? Finally, will these clash with the Irish DTT signals?

    Thanks

I suspect you may in the be able to get DTT freeview from North Wales even now (With High Gain), and better when analogue is switched off in the next few years, since they will up the power of the freeview transmitters then.
You would need an Aerial sutiable for DDT, and either a TV with a digital tuner in it, or a separate set top box..

I got and installed for a friend in his Attic a UHF Ariel (Analog/Digital Wide band High Gain) from B&Q (40euro) and pointed it to 3rock(trial and error) and got the RTE/TV3/TNG channels (on DTT Test on my friends pristine new Digital TV) didn't try to point it to North Wales (Howth would be in the way;) )

    I know
http://www.zintek.tv/zintek/ sell a digital ariel as well
    as would maplins
and http://www.freesat.ie/ I think sell them as well

Thanks for that. Will try Maplins this weekend. Anyone else had any success picking up DTT from Wales, plus any interference from the Irish DTT trials?
