Must say fair play to Ian O' Riordan in The Irish Times as he is the only athletics journalist out there talking about the athletics stories that many people on this board are interested in. Article yesterday on the Awards night next week also mentioned that Derval O' Rourke has moved to Malcolm Arnold and Joanne Cuddihy has moved to Nick Dakin with Gillick and Carey.

Lets hope he keeps it going as its a relief to read something in the main papers other than "ball sports and pony races".

Reported the day before in the indo. by Cliona Foley.

It's interesting news, alright. Cuddihy made big strides last season. We'll see how much more she can come on next year. She has stacks of potential.

Arnold has a big reputation; O'Rourke could do quite well with him. A final for each in Beijing is not out of the question.

better than spillane anyway having a go at amount of money invested in the sport and deeming it as a failure because no medals were won in osaka regardless of the performances made and also conviently failed to mention gillicks success in Birmingham or our success at junior level in Belgard
