I'd go for a Japanese strat, definitely.

I can't imagine a Jap one being cheap and nasty, because I don't think I've ever played a bad Japanese made instrument. Japan isn't a cheap place to manufacture things, so it wouldn't be cost effective to knock out crappy ones anyway.

this seems to be the cheapest Jap Fender you can get. Personally, I'd get something other than a Fender. If you can find a Fujigen strat, jump on it!

yeah that might be it. theres one hanging in a local shop but i havent had a good look or asked about it.

havent seen any fujigen but there are heaps of Blade strats around. pretty pricey too at about 3500 bucks.

That's a made by Fujigen, not a proper Fuji ;) Never heard of Blade

I had a CIJ Fender Strat and it was beautiful. Exceptional value, too. The only issue with CIJ Strats IMHO is that virtually all of them have vintage frets which dont suit me anymore. YMMV.

There's a guy who sells Bacchus in Melbourne. They're as good as you're ever going to find and quite reasonably priced for the quality of guitar you get :)

For example, it's some guys job to file these little scallops into both sides of the fretboard to make it just that little bit more comfortable :D

My boss has one Mexican in his attic for sale. Interested? If so, PM me, please.

Bacchus seem to kick the hell out of any Fender, Jap, Mex, US or Martian. I fully intend to get one at some point. Quality seems to be second to none.

I have three now, two basses and a guitar. They're the best instruments I've ever played, in every way. There's not much more I can say tbh.

I don't like the colour. And that describes what I know about guitars :-)

That's a beautiful looking guitar. Looks exactly like my CIJ strat except for the headstock which is the 70's Jimi type.
