I finally finished the Twilight Princess......

Having started on Christmas day I finally finished the Twilight Princess. My intial play got me as far as the temple of time. The reason I gave up on the game is that I found it so damn frustrating. It wasn't the combat that I found hard (all the boss battles were easy, with the exception of the twilight dragon) it was the "Where do I go/ What do I do next?" factor. Maybe the game was a breeze for hardcore Zelda fans but having only played the Wind Waker I found it quite hard.

Anyway, with a walkthrough handy, I picked up were I left off and finished it off (I really needed the walkthrough, after an 8 month break in the game I needed my memory refreshed on certian skills). I really enjoyed the ending. Graphics may not be as good as current gen consoles but their style more than makes up for it. I think somebody already commented on it before but the Twilight sections are sublime.

Top of the games achievements for me was the musical score. Top class and really adds to the atmosphere.

I didn't think it was as good as the Wind Waker but still really good overall. I have the Ocarina remake for the GC. Maybe it's time I give that a try:)

P.S: What's the story in having the mail man in his underwear!!!!

Congrats, although I thought the game was very simple. One thing to note; OoT on the GC isn't a remake, it's just a port, but absolutely start playing it!

You though it was easy:eek: Maybe I'm just rubbish at adventure games. There's a bit near the end where you have to shoot paintings off the wall. Would have NEVER figured that one out.

Sorry, I meant port. My brother had it on the N64 but I got it bundled with the wind waker on the GC. I must look into getting through it although my next port of call is to finish Resident Evil Zero (I'm only just off the train/ into the mansion and I must have that one a couple of years at this stage). Maybe it's not a bad thing that my 360 is away at the doctors. Gives me a chance to finish off a load of other games that have been sitting there. Nothing I hate more than an unfinished game.

After I finished Twilight princess I too moved on to OoT, it 's brilliant. Close to finishing it and then on to Majora's mask (that disc is the best £12 ever spent, 4 full games? Nice) If you have a GBA/DS I suggest Minish Cap too that was class.

Not even a port all the games on that disc are just the original ROMs running under emulation.

I bought twilight princess on launch day and had it finished by new years, but I know what its like to start a game and leave it for months, I've never completed a resident evil game on the first attempt,

Still have to complete cv having left it down almost a year ago.

congrats!:Dfinished it ages ago.bought the guide but never use it,just for collection :)a disgrace for a game like Zelda ,man!:)

graphic?!so far i am using my non-lcd tv to play it...gorgeous graphic, flawless!i knew that Nintendo used lots of technique to cover the whole game,ie technically the graphic should looks crap than other consoles ,but still,it looks better than most ps3 or x360 game graphic that i saw in game shops' fancy tv...
hopely we can see ta lovely midna again in the future game...:o 20seconds of showing her was really not enough for me!!a midna 's fan was born when i finished the game

Yeah I recently restarted it too. I got it on Christmas day aswell and I played it untill I got stuck in the Water Temple.

I restarted it about 2 and a half weeks ago and now I just completed the Prison in the Desert Temple (What's it's name? :)) It's pretty good but I feel very dirty For using a walkthrough most of the time. I think I'm just finishing it now just to see what the story is like. It's not like it's a chore either though :)

I've promised myself that I won't use a walkthrough for Phantom Hourglass.

Took me ages to get around to finish it as well, I got it at launch and ploughed through it until I got to the icy place, then just put it on the backburner for 5 months:o
Glad that I eventually came back to it though, the ending was fantastic!
Might play through it again now that I've got a new tv...
Or I might get around to finishing Wind Waker... or start OOT again...

Twas a great game alright. Got it on launch day and while it took me awhile to get around to playing it once I got into it there was no stopping me. Loved every minute of it and I think I referred to a walkthrough on one or two occasions. That was mainly to locate bugs though I think. Sold it once I finished it and haven't had as good a time on the Wii until MP3 was stuck in there a few weeks ago.

I have bought The Wind Waker and OOT discs for GameCube so will have to give them both a go but with Mario Galaxy out on Friday the main priority is finishing Metroid so I can dedicate myself to it.

Great game, enjoyed it alot in the first few months of this year. It took me about 2 months to finish it as i didn't have alot of free time to play. Interesting you said that, i always thought it was very clear what to do next. Loved that after every temple you could go back and have a go at all the caves etc that you got stuck in for want of some bow or boomerang or whatever. I thought it struck a great balance between telling you how to progress the story but also leaving you do whatever else you wanted at any time.

I must actually go back and play again, hmm... do I start from the start again or do I try to find the last hearts? :D

i gotta go back to it as well; i've gotten to the point where you're on horseback trying to protect the carriage with the lass in it from the friggers chucking fire arrows at it and the birds dropping bombs. Having awful difficulty with it, but now that i have the wii insulater covers i might go back to it - i won't feel so bad at chucking the wiimote at the wall if i get killed again...

That section was a Grade A pain in the tits, took me fooking ages to get through, it was the hardest part for me.

thanks for that, irish halo...it really really really is annoying me, and a relief to know i'm not the only schmo what found it hard:D; up to that point the game is doable and y'know, two or three goes at a boss and you have it nailed...this is just silly.

come the weekend, i'll give it another rattle...

I've heard from about 4 people from among friends and countless people on the internet who had trouble with that part (one who spent about 2 weeks on it). Is it weird that i find it to be one of my favourite parts of the game?

Playing it again at the moment, love the Snowpeak dungeon.

Was a total walk in the park. Kill the enemies and if the wagon catches fire just put it out with the wind boomerang.

remind me to NEVER go for a walk in the park with you...:D

i know what i'm meant to do in it - i just can't kill all the enemies. the lads on horses (or whatever) are no bother, but it's taking out the birds dropping the bombs who cause the cart to veer off away from the exit that are the problem...

bomb bird?cant remember already...but i remember near the end,you need to use sword to kill those bastards if they get near the carriage, shoot mode again after you clean them.that was one exiciting part though i think i failed for the 1st time, there is skill involved alright

I remember being stuck on that part for a good hour or so first time round. Perseverance and stubborness wouldn't let me give up. Can be very hard to hit the Bomb Birds at times and it nearly always seems to be just when your approaching the exit.

they're basically the flying baddies that stop your carriage going on the normal path and instead cause it to go around and around in circles...

right *cracks knuckles* this weekend it is....

Great game, got it on release date ,but couldn't play it for ages due to Leaving Cert type things. Went to town on it during september spending every spare minute I had trying to complete it. Absolutely brilliant. I think I preffered Wind Waker though.

Now Metroid consumes my time...I must finish it before Mario,I'm 20 percent in!! It's gonna be a long two days..

Thank the good lord, I thought it was just me who had problems with this part! And what annoyed me even more was that if you turned off the console, you had to start the carriage ride and "foe at the bridge" part all over again!! Its been months since I've played it, dunno if its worth going back to the start, or continuing from where I left off. How far into the game IS that part, does anyone know?
