The Orange Box delayed on PS3

As another poster mentioned in the assassins creed thread Half Life has been delayed again for the PS3 :mad: I have been eagerly awaiting this game since it was announced for the PS3, but I am worried we are getting another late and sloppily done port of an xbox/pc game.
Has anyone seen any footage/screenshots of the PS3 version?
According to Play.com it won't be out until the middle of December :mad:

I think the fact that it's late is a sign that it's unlikely to be sloppily done.

The main problem is that valve have a bit of a phobia of anything different from PC, so EA are handling the conversion in a different studio which is taking time. EA have a better track record than most third parties when it comes to making solid ports so I wouldn't worry too much yet.

Considering the engine it's running was able to run with a little modification on the Xbox 1 it really shouldn't be an issue getting it to run with solid performance once they devote proper time to it.

Easy for me to say since I'm not waiting though, I have the PC version already.

isn't the 360 easier to port to though as it's basically bog standard pc hardware?

Triple core CPU with 6 threads
PowerPC architecture
Unified ram
Unified shader architecture
eDram built onto GPU

Big differences although IIRC it uses an API based off DirectX which should make things easier.

Yep, which means a lot of the differences between 360 and PC are handled by the compiler rather than the developers, though obviously you need to make adjustments.

Whereas with the PS3 or PS2 or Wii the differences are vast. Thats why the 360 gets so many more PC ports, and only games that are worth the effort go to the other consoles.

I was in Game the other day picking up a controller so I asked them about it, on their release list thingy and it was down on their list as Half Life 2 as either the 7th or the 14th, I can't remember which, I think it was the 7th...or I may be confusing that with Haze, but they defo had Half Life 2 down for one of those dates.
