I went down to bray today, up at 6 to be there for 9, didn't mind that.
Took a while for teams to be sorted which is understandable with bout 120 people there, then we went out for the first round, bout 40 of us, then it went down hill.
No one takes hits, people fire at you from point plant, people walking by shoot at you. you put up your hand because you're hit but people don't know that it means your hit, they must think it means Shoot me more...
There is no room to do anything tactical so ends up being bogged down and who ever has the most ammo and can go the longest without calling a hit wins.
No one listens to the marshals, people shooting you the second you get your gun before you even start.
And worst of all it cost 80 bloody euro!
And cause people shooting point blank i'm in bloody bits!
Good once off but not again for at least a year or so.

Ive been marshalling up in crossfire paintball for the last week and I ve seen alot of that sort of crap, for example today some fcuker thought it would be a good idea to shoot me for the laugh and then do a runner. If people dont take their hits and a marshall sees they should be removed from the game. The point blank shooting is just ridiclous, these things hurt around 5 times more at 50ft than an airsoft at 1ft and I've seen people put 5 or 6 rounds into people from 1foot, if you do have a problem with someone talk to a marshall and they should sort it out for you.

any one care to put that to a test..... not me anyways.

Frontier for us was grand, but that was 13/15 a side, not 20 a side so i can see how it can get cramped. You can jusr get bag groups of punters who don't give a feck

My brother was talking to a lad in work about airsoft, and the guy said he'd never heard of it, but had been paintballing with one of his mates. The stories he told of himself and this other fella acting the maggot were unbelievable.

Point blank shots to the back of the head, pot shots at a particular guy on the oposing team while all were in the safe zone. He was proud of it, saying things like "ah we got told off, but then we did this..."

People like this should be thrown out of a venue, paintball or airsoft.

people's mentality never fails to suprise , basicly its down to bad organisation ,paintball/Airsoft needs need to be run with strict rules when it comes to players safety ,situations like that can end in fisty cuffs

there are strict rules and most places are run well. You cant have a marshal on every single player

Once at paintball.. a guy lifted the netting of the safezone.. and started pumping shots at the people in it.. I think he should have been arrested for assault.

Idiots go who think "I have a gun, I am a big man now", they think they are going to be Rambo, and then when someone gets the better of them they start to loose the plot.. and behave like mornons. I could tell you a million stories! Some groups are better than others..

There are some .. tatics to getting the better of cheaters though.. my personal prefernce is if I shoot them and they do not accept the hit.. I put a shot as close to the last one as possible..and then another.. and another until they cop on. Marshalls in Crossfire are good though.. you can imagine the **** they have to put up with though..

One venue I was at which will remain.. nameless.. let people out playing drunk out of their heads.. they were even drinking cans in the safezone.. nice!

Not gonna say which venue it was but the last time we went paintballing there was a bin in the safe zone full of empty cans of bullmers. We were a bit late arriving, did we miss some kind of weird drink breifing?

I think this behavour is largly contributed by fire arms laws. When people get access to something like this "Forbidden" they loose there head.

Last time i was paintballing was about 10months ago, was in the one in Kart city and although it was a great game where both teams played by the rules (10 aside) I had just left the safe zone and was over where they get ammo and the same gobsh*te ref that had told me off about pullin my mask out a little to breath (although i shouldnt do it i made sure it was while i was in cover) shot me in the ankle from standing beside me and i was wearing runners so only a sock to take the power, Only for the risk of ruining the day for everyone else i was going to smash the paintball marker into his face (which funny enough didnt have a mask on while on the battle zone).,

What I was trying to say is that its not quite as bad to be hit as Liamo makes it out to be, and Im tired of people whining about Airsoft and Paintball hurting...hence the "some people should just play golf"...or I suppose lawn bowling or tennis would do too.

Paintball is great fun for shooting friends and not really caring about wining ever in the slightest, airsoft is great fun for getting tactical. So if you're into airsoft don't go paintballing and if you're looking to act the arse and shot friends at pointblank go paintball.

What's that sound. Ah, it must be ditpaintball's head exploding.

Acting the mick and idiocy seen in a particular sport has nothing to do with the actual sport. It's all to do with what level of professionalism the site is run at. You can have paintball sites and games which are run at a very high level. Likewise, there is potential for muppetry at an airsoft game if the site isn't being run well.

What are you crapping about? Paintball is a professional, Internationally recogized sport. My team travels all over the world playing in major competitions. Its a serious competitive sport with alot to gain and loose. Its not running around shooting your mates, the same could be said about q-zar, airsoft or halo.
From what I hear Frontier is a good site, but with many problems. The crowd you see promoting them have nothing to do with the marshalling side or the company, they just promote and get commission so they want to pack out the site regardless if the site can handle the volume of punters or not. Delta Force (the english franchise) has a bad rep in the UK for exactly that.
As a paintball marshal at Barrage I have to say its a tough job. You get a fair ammount of muppets that pose a major danger to others and themselves. It doesn't help that my site has a fully licenced bar on site either, where most people find themselves when they arrive too early.
I have had a marker pointed many times at me for calling people out, and scumbags can get pretty aggressive to.
As a marshal I also tend to get shot alot, but as I take my work very seriously I will run through fire-fights to do my job. I hate lazy marshals that don't do their job properly cause they are afraid to get hit. Wear a big hoodie and heavy pants and you'll be alright.

it seems airsoft and paintball have some similar problems...namely muppets...

might be a lot of concepts we could borrow in airsoft from paintball since it is been through the ringer so to speak for much longer in ireland.

its amazing how one or two idiots can cause complete mayhem destroying a game for dozens...

as for paintball hits...i certainly would not like to get hit close with them, got hit in the finger years ago playing it at medium distance, that was freakin sore...they are in a different league in power to our airsoft stuff...

lol, yup hence the firearms issue

Anyway, this is going off topic. Any more comments about frontier?

playing at my level you get shot from inches away. I forget the ammount of times i got riddled from less than 2 feet away because i focused on one spot and allowed a fella sneak past. It hurts but you get used to it, and we shoot 15bps.
