Howdy, have a 02 Mondeo 2.0 Zetec TD 115ps that has just died. Main dealer thinks it may be the fuel pump. Any ideas how much this should cost? Would a 2nd hand one be a runner and if so any suggestions on where to get one in the south east? Thanks.

somethin happened along the same lines with my mondeo, it was the electric fuel pump at back right wheel. Cost me about 400quid or so to get it fixed, and my mechanic had to order the part from Bosch cos the ford dealer didnt have them and were charging way too much to order it in.

Thanks for that. Anyone else got any suggestions? Have some scary quotes for fuel pump problems.

Engine Remanufacturing in Castlebar (details here - http://www.castlebar.ie/yeller/Industry_and_manufacturing/Manufacturing/EngineRemB.htm ) can supply you with a direct fit pump (does not need to be coded in by main dealer), I'm not sure of the price but I know it's significantly cheaper than a Ford pump
