Well Eset have launched their "Smart Security" suite recently (its a final release) and iv been testing it. Not that pleased with it - I always found their AV good but this suite doesnt seem to detect anything.

AVG was picking up tracking cookies and Smart Security wasnt picking up anything. I would expect a security suite to be able to detect any type of threat - no matter how small.

Also, the scanner percentage bar has stopped at 27% for me all the time. It keeps scanning, but the status bar never rises - just stays still.

Has anyone did a proper test and compared it with AVG?

Eset would be better than AVG, think lot of people have that opinion. Am not a fan of security suites myself, with the exception of Kasperskys. As for the tracking cookies, wouldn't worry about Eset not detecting them. I know Kaspersky doesn't and that is by far the best. Pretty much all AV's wont detect them.

I know Eset are very good, but this is their first anti-spyware (IIRC) so comparing it to AVG which is lately seen as a damn good spyware detector - I wonder, has Eset managed to strip their title like they have done in the table of Virus detectors?

Oh I didn't know you were referring to their anti-spyware program.

Must ask around about it. Although I can't imagine it being better than AVG. AVG anti-spyware is the best by far, Dr.Web Cureit would be #2. I'd imagine Esets Anti-spyware would be along the lines of spybot/ad-awares level. Will have to wait and see.
