is there any point in emailing or contacting a bank about phising emails, or does anyone know if the banks have a place on their sites where these emails can be reported, obsviously, being a pishing email the bank didn't send it,

keeps getting emails from people/groups, who ever they are, claiming to be from two differnet UK banks, now i dont open the emails (may have opened one out of curiosity), but is frustating when i empty my trash box of about at least one pishing email a day, along with all the other cr@p that ends up in it (up to 30 to 40 a week)

Hit the "Contact Us" link or whatever they have and send it on. They'll probably just send you a patronising but polite email.

scam emails claiming to be from your bank asking yor for personal details such as ATM or online banking details, so they can update or correct their records

If you click on the link in the email it should bring you to the bogus webpage. In firefox it should be recognised automatically and you can report it to google who get the page shut down. ie7 also has this ability. I get these emails almost every day and religiously report them as it only takes a few minutes. I feel its well worth the small amount of time which may save some non tech savvy person or pensioner from a lot of hurt and hassle.

Get a gmail account - the spam filter is brilliant - haven't got spam in my account in ages, and it never puts an email in the spam folder by mistake...

    I don't have a phishing problem...

Can't you go into your browser and block country codes? Some countries are notorious sites of phishing origin. Also phishing sites that are repetitive?
