Removing dell laptop hard disk?

    Hello

I am trying to remove the hard disk from an Inspiron 8600.

According to the dell website I just remove the screw at the bottom of the case, and pull out the hard disk. This seems like nonsense, because the hard disk is jammed in place.

Does anyone know how I can remove the hard disk?

    Thanks

You will have to remove 1 or more screws. Then it will slide out.

You will probably have to give it a firm tug, it's not just going to drop out. The same as you would disconnect an ide connector from a hard drive - it doesn't just drop out, you have to pull it out!

One Screw to remove and a bit of BFI (brute force 'n ignorance) and it should pop out.

you remove the screw, then the cover slides down very slightly, this allows you to grab it and pull out. just make sure the cover slides down first or it wont come out or it will come out and break the clip.
